Fast Pasture Classification Method using Ground-based Camera and the Modified Green Red Vegetation Index (MGRVI)

چکیده

The assessment of aboveground biomass is important for achieving rational usage pasture resources and maximizing the quantity quality milk meat production. This study presents a method fast approximation pastures’ biomass. Unlike most similar studies, which rely on unmanned aerial vehicle satellite obtained data, this focuses photos made by stationary or mobile ground-based visual spectrum camera. developed methodology uses raster analysis, based MGRVI index, in order to classify into two categories: “grazed” “ungrazed”. Thereafter, accounts perspective obtain actual area each class square meters percent. was applied an experimental pasture, located near city Troyan (Bulgaria). Two images were selected, with first one representing mostly ungrazed second – grazed one. Thereafter analyzed using QGIS 3.0 as well specially software tool. An advantage proposed that it does not require expensive equipment technological knowledge, relies commonly available tools, such camera phones.

Modelling Above ground net primary production of Sabalan rangelands using vegetation index and non-linear regression

Background and objectives: Alongside with the progresss in satellite sensors, their role on obtaining information and study of the environmental events and phenomena have become increasingly important. One of these precious data which is the basis for many planning and decision making in rangelands, is the above ground net primary production assements. The traditional method of estimating ANPP ...

Applicability of Green-Red Vegetation Index for Remote Sensing of Vegetation Phenology

We evaluated the use of the Green-Red Vegetation Index (GRVI) as a phenological indicator based on multiyear stand-level observations of spectral reflectance and phenology at several representative ecosystems in Japan. The results showed the relationships between GRVI values and the seasonal change of vegetation and ground surface with high temporal resolution. We found that GRVI has the follow...

Interpretation of the modified soil-adjusted vegetation index isolines in red-NIR reflectance space

In red-NIR reflectance space, the Modified Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index (MSAVI) isolines, representing similar vegetation biophysical quantities, are neither convergent to a point nor parallel to each other. Consequently, the treatment of the MSAVI isolines is distinctly different from those of other vegetation index isolines, such as the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), the per...

buckling of viscoelastic composite plates using the finite strip method

Estimating Pasture Quality of Fresh Vegetation Based on Spectral Slope of Mixed Data of Dry and Fresh Vegetation - Method Development

The main objective of the present study was to apply a slope-based spectral method to both dry and fresh pasture vegetation. Differences in eight spectral ranges were identified across the near infrared-shortwave infrared (NIR-SWIR) that were indicative of changes in chemical properties. Slopes across these ranges were calculated and a partial least squares (PLS) analytical model was constructe...
